Revelation in the Last Days

Image
Hi Family and Friends!! A lot of changes happened this week in the mission field! We had a mission wide conference call on Monday where we were told that the Preach My Gospel has been revised! Now, Preach My Gospel has been adjusted to meet member, and missionary needs! Also, how to train new missionaries has also been revised! That change also affected me immensely as I'm training a new missionary. It's amazing to see all the changes that the church is making! It is truly wonderful.  All these changes have helped me reflect on the 9th Article of Faith, "We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God." We are witnessing these new revelations TODAY! The doctrine isn't changing. The church is not apostate. :) We are simply preparing in these last days through revelations given to President Nelson for Jesus Christ's second coming. The...

Becoming Consecrated

Image
Hi Friends and Family!! This week was the best! It was 90 degrees or higher but not too bad! People here think I'm crazy because I love the humidity. Heavenly Father sure did put me in the right mission!     This past week I've been reflecting and have really been grateful for the opportunity to be a full time missionary! About a month ago, President Stone (my mission president) gave us the challenge to be more consecrated in our missionary efforts. Sister Coles and I took that challenge to heart and acted on it. Since doing so, the Lord has blessed us tremendously! We now have 5 people on date for baptism in July and maybe soon another investigator on date as well. The referals we were getting before have tripled. And everyone we are teaching or have found have been prepared to accept the gospel. I know that these things have happened because of my Heavenly Father. Once we truly give our all to Him and leave all other things behind us, we become a better tool in His...

June 13, 2018: Eyes Single to the Glory of God

Image
Hi Family and Friends!!!  This week has been good! I was able to go to the Nashville Temple with some recent converts and it was such a blessing!  I was also blessed to be able to teach a lady we found on exchanges. We talked to her about the Holy Ghost and explained what/how His presence is felt. After we taught her, she said she could feel the spirit in her and that it was a nice feeling. It was a super powerful moment! We told her how the gospel truly brings joy to those who live it. After that she said, "You girls just glow. You can always tell when someone has Jesus in their lives, you can see it in their eyes." This made me reflect on the scripture 3 Nephi  13:22 , "The light of the body is the eye; if, therefore, thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light." I find that to be so true. If we have our eyes single to the glory of God and are focused on the work, we will be greater instruments in His hands. I know that as we keep our "e...

June 6, 2018: Hard and Fulfilling

Image
Hi Friends and Family! This week was probably the hardest week I've had so far on my mission. However, it was so full of blessings I can hardly hold them in.  Here's what happened... This past week I was feeling really down. I was really missing my violin and instrumental music. I was just not my usual self and I didn't know what was wrong. Well, on Thursday I had zone conference, which is where we all get together as missionaries to learn and grow together. President Stone usually talks with us and we do a lot of role plays. We had a regular zone conference and when we thought it was over, President Stone told us to go to the chapel. So, being obedient missionaries, we filed in. Little did we know that the Nashville Tribute Band was waiting to greet us and perform for us. As they played, my heart was overjoyed with happiness and the spirit. I felt so much love from my Heavenly Father. He knew I was having a hard time and that music means so much to me. He knew that...
