June 6, 2018: Hard and Fulfilling
Hi Friends and Family!
This week was probably the hardest week I've had so far on my mission. However, it was so full of blessings I can hardly hold them in.
Here's what happened...
This past week I was feeling really down. I was really missing my violin and instrumental music. I was just not my usual self and I didn't know what was wrong. Well, on Thursday I had zone conference, which is where we all get together as missionaries to learn and grow together. President Stone usually talks with us and we do a lot of role plays. We had a regular zone conference and when we thought it was over, President Stone told us to go to the chapel. So, being obedient missionaries, we filed in. Little did we know that the Nashville Tribute Band was waiting to greet us and perform for us. As they played, my heart was overjoyed with happiness and the spirit. I felt so much love from my Heavenly Father. He knew I was having a hard time and that music means so much to me. He knew that I needed music so He provided a way for me to have it.
Another blessing was that I was able to borrow a violin from a ward member. I have missed my violin!!!! I never thought I'd miss it that much. But, after searching for the past 3 weeks for a violin, I have one to use!! I'm excited to play it for the ward here in Hopkinsville!! Heavenly Father is so good to me! He truly wants me to succeed in all aspects of missionary work, even the musical aspect.
I also was unfortunately sick for 2 days this week. My body didn't like me too much. But, like 2 Nephi 2:11 says, "There must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things." But, now that I have passed through the pain and sickness I am so very thankful that I am well now. I also was able to receive a priesthood blessing. I am so very grateful for the blessing of the priesthood in my life.
All in all it was a wonderful week! It was hard, but so fulfilling and joyous! My heart is so happy and my soul is joyous for the gospel! Thanks for all the love and support! I love all of you!
Challenge for this week: Watch or re-watch the youth devotional that President Nelson gave on Sunday. He challenged the youth to do 5 things. I encourage the youth and all those that would like to grow to do those 5 things as well! The Lord is hastening His work! Let's do all we can!
