It's OUR Choice

Image
Howdy Family and Friends!!! This week was fabulous! I had my final zone conference and I just wanted to share a few insights from that. First off I have to say that I know God answers prayers. We can receive personal revelation today. I received so many answers at zone conference to the questions I was praying about! Seriously, all of zone conference was directed at me! Now, about zone conference. President Weaver shared D&C 42:14 which states, " And the Spirit shall be given unto you by the prayer of faith; and if ye receive not the Spirit ye shall not teach." When he shared this, he talked about how it is our  choice  to have the Holy Ghost in our lives! The way we live can either invite, or push away the Spirit. So, this means we have to put some preparation into having the spirit with us. We have to  receive  the Holy Ghost. We have to make sure we are listening and ready to act on the promptings that come to us. We have to make sure we are stand...

Line Upon Line

Hey Family and Friends!  This week I wanted to share an insight.  I was reading in a talk this week and I came across a quote which read, " The Holy Ghost doesn’t tell us to improve everything at once. If He did, we would become discouraged and give up. The Spirit works with us at our own speed, one step at a time, or as the Lord has taught, “line upon line, precept upon precept, … and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, … for unto him that receiveth I will give more.” When we as missionairies teach people, we ask them to keep small commitments. When they do this, we increase to bigger commitments. This way they are able to change slowly and receive many blessings as they do so. The Spirit works the same way. He doesn't tell us to change everything all at once. But, "line upon line." I know that Heavenly Father loves each of us individually. He knows us. He will help us. We are able to have the Gift of the Holy Ghost to help us know what to d...

Joyful Repentance

July 10, 2019 Joyful Repentance Howdy y'all!!!  This week has been so good! We were able to meet our lovely new mission president and his wife, the Weavers! They are so fabulous! You could just feel the love they had for us eminate through the room. We also had the opportunity to celebrate the 4th! Since we live with members, we were able to stand in their (our) backyard and watch some beautiful fireworks! Don't worry y'all, I didn't touch anything that could potentially catch on fire! ;) Spiritual Reminder: This week I had a day that I just didn't really have a lot of joy in. I felt off all day and it wasn't until we were at a members house sharing a message that it finally clicked. Sister Thueson shared a quote that said, "Love is the very essence of the gospel and Jesus Christ is our exampler. -President Thomas S. Monson. That statement is so powerful and true. I also shared a quote which stated that, "Joy has nothing to do with the circu...

T.O.A.S.T.

Hey Family and Friends!!!  This week has been so good! I'll share a few highlights! 1. We have really been trying to find people that are ready to learn about the gospel. Well, we've been planning different areas to go finding and praying about it. Our prayers have been answered this week. We were able to find many people that the Lord has prepared because we prayed and listened to the Spirit.  2. Lesson learned. T.O.A.S.T.  On my mission there are many uncomfortable or awkward situations. Well, I've had so many. But, a wise missionary once said T.O.A.S.T. Which means, thrive on awkward situations thoroughly. I have lived that statement. When we are "all in" on the work, we are more efficient and find more joy in the work! Thriving on awkward situations thoroughly helps me to just embrace the awkward and get on with it. Let's face it. It's not that normal to knock on someone's door and talk to them about Jesus Christ. But, hey. We're s...
