"Follow Him"

Image
Hi Family and Friends!!!  This week was stellar as we were able to celebrate and remember the birth of our Savior. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve the Lord here in Tennessee at this time. I know that He wants ALL of His children to "Come, Follow Me." I have seen the blessings pour down as we leave all other things and follow Him.  I've been thinking a lot about what it means to "Follow Him". One thought that I kept having was that to follow Him we have to put Him and His gospel above all else. In Luke 18, Mark 10 and Matthew 19 the words and concept of following Him are described. I would encourage y'all to read in those chapters. See how you can better "Follow Him". Then, I'd invite you to act. Start now.   I know as we follow our Savior we will be able to withstand the attacks of Satan. As we put Him and the gospel first we will not be distracted by the world and the things going on, but will be focused on the...

The Reason for the Season

Image
Hi Family and Friends! This week has been another stellar week! Here's a few highlights! Caroling We decided to go out caroling to the houses around us singing hymns. It was really great! We were able to talk to a few people about the Savior and our purpose as missionaries. And, they seemed to enjoy the hymns! We did too. I also found that I have zero lung capacity! Haha! But, the Spirit was so strong! It was so wonderful! Surprise Gifts First off, gifts are not the reason for the season. However, as a missionary you really like getting mail. (Especially packages) That being said, we had a long day and when we got home, to our surprise there was a bag full of little packages. We were amazed. At first I thought, "Did someone drop this off to the right house?" However, it was for Sister DeGraw and I! We were happy about that. We brought them in and found that there was a package per day until Christmas. We scavenged for a senders name but couldn't find...

Gifts

Hi Family and Friends!!! It's been another wonderfully wild week here in the TNM!  Here's a few highlights. 1. MLC I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Missionary Leadership Council meeting or MLC. We discussed how we can best help our mission become a "lighthouse" mission to guide others unto Christ. It was a really wonderful meeting. I always learn a lot and always am excited to go out and share the trainings with my zone/area.  2. Exchanges After MLC we had exchanges with the McMinnville hermanas. I was with Hermana Vargas. She is so wonderful. We were able to go out finding and even talk to a lady near our home about the Book of Mormon and leave her with a copy. We were also able to contact a former person that was taught and help him better understand the Book of Mormon. It was a great day.  3. Emergency Room So yesterday night/this morning my lovely companion and I were at the hospital. Don't worry we are both good! We figured...

2 Sisters VS The Storm and Spiders

Image
Hi Family and Friends!!! Feliz Navidad! This week has been so good!!!  Here's a few memorable moments:  The Storm So we had this pretty intense storm on Saturday. There was a sever thunderstorm warning. There was lightening everywhere and it was really close. It was pretty scary! We had to stay inside for a little bit. Thankfully we were still able to make it to a lesson and to the church to write our report. It was super sketchy for a minute or so though. But, we survived!:)  Spider Armageddon Preface here. We live kind of in the country. Gravel driveway and grass everywhere. There's some fields pretty close. That being said, we got home from the church and I was unlocking the door when Sister DeGraw said, "Sister, spider." That is when I used the flight not fight option and jumped out of the way. There was a massive spider right by my foot when I was unlocking the door. That was just the beginning. We got inside and we found 4 more spiders that wer...
