Hi Family and Friends!!! I have a new companion!!!! Her name is Sister DeGraw! She's from California and she's SO wonderful! We are getting along great and doing the Lord's work! We also have a new senior missionary couple, The Roberts, joining us here in Fayetteville. They are not proselyting missionaries but are here to strengthen and build up the ward! We are excited to have them! They are great!  As for this week, we had MLC which is the Missionary Leadership Conference in Nashville. We left our apartment at 5am carrying a bike with us. I had an interview with President Stone and then went into our council. It was so great. I had prayed before to be able to receive answers and to be able to help those around me. Well, ALL my questions were answered yet again! Wow! I love this gospel! We discussed the needs of the people in our areas and were able to find solutions and ways to help each other. It was a great meeting! I always love when we council together. It rem...

Sickness and Scriptures

Hi Family and Friends!! What a week!!!  First off, MOM HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I sure am blessed to have such a wonderful mother! Thanks for caring for me for the past 2 decades! If any of y'all see my dear mother, wish her a happy day!  Now. My lovely companion Sister Fox is being transferred tomorrow. I will miss her! She will do great in her new area! My new companion will be Sister Degraw. My new sister training leader companion will be Hermana Alta. My dream has finally come true to have a spanish speaking companion! Well, sort of. Haha. I'm counting it.  As for the week. Sister Fox was super sick for a few days so we were camped up in our apartment for a day or so. While she rested, I had the privilege of studying my scriptures more. It was amazing. I said a prayer in which I asked some questions. I then dug into the scriptures. I found all the answers in the scriptures and was overcome with peace. It was a great opportunity for me to come closer to my H...

Elder Bowen and Crashing Family Reunions

Image
Aloha Friends and Family!!! This week has been eventful. Here's what happened.  1.  Elder Bowen This past week we were blessed to have a few meetings with Elder Bowen to be trained on a few things. It was like drinking from a fire hose the whole time he spoke to us! He has the mannerisms of Elder Holland. VERY bold, but not overbearing. He talked about how we sometimes set false limitations for ourselves. He gave us an analogy of fleas. When you catch fleas and put them in a jar they will jump out. However, if you put a lid on the jar, they will try to jump out for a little bit, but then will start to jump just below the lid. You can take the lid off and the fleas will still only jump to right before where the lid was. Even with the lid off, they will not jump out because of the false limitation they have. He said how we are sometimes the fleas. We settle where we are at and set false limitations for how many lessons we can teach, who we can contact, etc. He challeng...

Conference Was AWESOME.

Hi Family and Friends!!! This week has been so great! I don't have much time today but here's a few highlights from the week! General Conference : What can I say. President Nelson is truly a prophet called of God! I'm so excited for the new Come Follow Me curriculum! You should've seen my face when he announced 2 hours of church!! Haha. It was pretty funny! I know it will help a lot of people get to church that have medical problems, small children, etc. Wow! We are so blessed to be able to know exactly what Heavenly Father wants/needs of us. I also loved the reminder about the name of our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Fixing Sister Fox's phone:  We accidentally locked ourselves out of Sister Fox's phone and couldn't remember the password. So, we called the technology missionary, Samsung, and prayed. We are happy to say we are back in and the calls are rolling. I'm so glad we have resources for ALL our demands. Espe...

You Never Know

Hola mi familia y mis amigos! Don't judge my Spanish! Haha, I figured I should start my email a little different this week. This week has been full of ups and downs. Well, I guess that's just the typical mission life though. I wanted to share a few experiences that happened this week.  1.  The Tire!   So my companion and I volunteer at a charity twice a week. Well, we had just finished our volunteer hours on Thursday and got in the car to go home and change. When we started the car and were backing up, the dash told us that our passenger front tire was super low on the psi. We filled up all our tires up last week to 35 so we were concerned that it was at 20 psi. We figured there was a slow leak. So, we went home and changed into our dresses again and headed out to check on that tire. We went to the dealership of the make of our car (as it was the closest place to our apartment). They said they'd have a look. Now, keep in mind, Sister Fox and I were worried it...
