Hey Family and Friends, This week has been good. It's been a little sad because we had to drop a lot of our investigators because they weren't progressing/repenting. That being said, we've really been working on finding those that are ready to hear the gospel. Yesterday we found one of those people. We were actually doing some tracting when we met this guy named AJ. He was walking down the street and so we stopped him and talked to him about the Plan of Salvation. We gave him a Plan of Salvation pamphlet and he told us that a man gave his mom the same pamphlet the day before. He said that he wanted to learn more about it at the time but didn't know how. That's when we found him. He said he knew that he needed to hear from us and that God sent us to him. I know that Heavenly Father will lead us to those that are ready as long as we put our faith in him and trust that we will find those people.  My Challenge for y'all is to write down what questions/concern...

Spiritual Slap by Elder Holland

Image
Hey Family and Friends!!!      It's been a great week! I had the opportunity to introduce myself to Elder Holland. It was amazing!! I felt like he looked into my soul! It's probably because he did... He spoke at our mission conference as well as Elder Klebingat (of the 70) and Elder Behesti (of the 70). It was a wonderful day! I learned so much! Elder Holland spoke to us about talking to everyone, and not judging people. The gospel is for everyone, and everyone can be blessed by it. He then talked about how he wouldn't be in the church if some missionaries hadn't stopped his grandma. His grandma was the "least likely convert" according to Elder Holland. However, his dad listened to the missionaries and became a convert to the church. He told us, "I could have been the person you passed on the street without talking too". That was a spiritual slap to the face! I really reflected on what he said. Every person should have the opportunity to hear the...

Hey Friends and Family!!! This week I have recognized how the Lord will guide us to those who need us. Sister Henley and I had three lessons planned and all of them canceled on us. We didn't know what to do so we prayed. We felt that we should go visit a less active member who lived nearby. We had went to her house a few days prior but felt like we should go back again. So, we heeded the Spirit and went to her house. We knocked and she was on the phone crying. She let us in and continued to just weep on her stairs. We were completely shocked and a little surprised. (But then again, the Spirit lead us there so I wasn't really suprised. I knew we needed to be there.) She told us about the trials she was going through and that she was completely overwhelmed. We asked what we could do to help her. She didn't want us to help her clean or do anything because we were in dresses. However, we ended up doing laundry with her for an hour or so. We laughed and prayed with her. I then...

Trust in God. Act in Faith.

Hey Family and Friends!! This week has been amazing! I've had a lot of really awesome experiences!  I've been especially studying/working on Trusting in the Lord with Faith. I was really struggling on having faith that the Lord would send Sister Henley and I to people that are ready to hear our message. However, my prayers were answered, my heart was changed, and my soul has been uplifted. I say this because, I started praying that I would be excited and not nervous to talk to people. Every day I've prayed to have a good attitude. Yesterday, I woke up, prayed, and read a talk about faith. The talk was, "Fourth Floor Last Door." by Dieter F. Uchtdorf. In this talk, it talked about how we need to have faith that Heavenly Father will prepare his people, then trust that He will guide us to them. After I read that, I was super excited to find people! I truly felt a change in my heart and attitude.  After all of this had happened, Sister Henley and I went out...
