Hey Friends and Family!!!
This week I have recognized how the Lord will guide us to those who need us. Sister Henley and I had three lessons planned and all of them canceled on us. We didn't know what to do so we prayed. We felt that we should go visit a less active member who lived nearby. We had went to her house a few days prior but felt like we should go back again. So, we heeded the Spirit and went to her house. We knocked and she was on the phone crying. She let us in and continued to just weep on her stairs. We were completely shocked and a little surprised. (But then again, the Spirit lead us there so I wasn't really suprised. I knew we needed to be there.) She told us about the trials she was going through and that she was completely overwhelmed. We asked what we could do to help her. She didn't want us to help her clean or do anything because we were in dresses. However, we ended up doing laundry with her for an hour or so. We laughed and prayed with her. I then shared a scripture with her. It was actually a scripture I had studied in my personal study. (Heavenly Father was preparing me to help her. I had actually prayed during my personal study that I would be able to be ready to help those I taught for the day. My prayers were answered. ) It was something that she really needed to hear. She started crying, but this time the tears were tears of joy. She found hope again through the Savior and through the scriptures. I sure know that as we put our trust in God, he will guide and direct us each day! I also know that as we listen and act on the promptings of the Holy Ghost, we are a better tool in the Lord's hands and are better able to share the light of Christ! He will never lead us astray. Put your trust in Him!
Reflect on this: Share your testimony! "A testimony isn't what we say, it's what we are."-Elder Anderson. Remember that we are latter day saints. People are always watching us. How are we acting? Would they see us and think of the Savior? We are representatives of His church! Be an example of Him!
Goal/Challenge: This week I'm working on a Christlike attribute. I would love for y'all to pick a Christlike attribute to work on. Pick one, then study it! (Yes, this means actually researching it and putting in some work):) Use the scriptures!! After you do this, start working on it and pray that Heavenly Father will help you change! I know that as you do this, Heavenly Father will help you grow and make your weak things become strong as Ether 12:27 states.
I love this gospel and am so blessed to be able to spread the truth and happiness that it brings to me with others. I know that "it truly brings peace in this life, and joy in the eternity!"
