June 13, 2018: Eyes Single to the Glory of God
Hi Family and Friends!!!
This week has been good! I was able to go to the Nashville Temple with some recent converts and it was such a blessing!
I was also blessed to be able to teach a lady we found on exchanges. We talked to her about the Holy Ghost and explained what/how His presence is felt. After we taught her, she said she could feel the spirit in her and that it was a nice feeling. It was a super powerful moment! We told her how the gospel truly brings joy to those who live it. After that she said, "You girls just glow. You can always tell when someone has Jesus in their lives, you can see it in their eyes." This made me reflect on the scripture 3 Nephi 13:22, "The light of the body is the eye; if, therefore, thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light." I find that to be so true. If we have our eyes single to the glory of God and are focused on the work, we will be greater instruments in His hands. I know that as we keep our "eyes single" we'll be able "to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man."-Moses 1:39. We won't just be more successful in this work, we'll also be joyful.
My challenge for y'all is to do more Family History/Geneology work and to be an example. Help your ancestors! The work has to be done! We are the ones that need to do it! This is a joyous work and gospel! Share that joy with others! We are all representatives of His church when we walk outside, help others, go to school, etc. We have taken His name upon us. Are we acting like it? If you answered no, then start now! Be an example unto the believers! Be an example to the Unbelievers. As members of the church we have already committed to act, lead and help others find the truth. So, what's stopping us?!
I love y'all dearly and know that this church is truly Jesus Christ's church here on the earth today! We have the fulness of the gospel! Let's help others find that joy that only this gospel can bring! The work is hastening so let's jump in! I love y'all!
