What You Can Become

Hey Y'all!!!!

This week has been good. I was a little under the weather for a few days but I am doing well now! I wanted to switch things up and share what I've learned this week.

"Be your best self"
President Stone has taught me a lot! One thing he's shared is that all missionaries are different. We come from different backgrounds, we've had different experiences, etc. But, we all have the same purpose as missionaries to "invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel." One thing I love is that we were all called here to this mission to help people. And, Heavenly Father wants and need all of our different personalities, traits, experiences, et. He wants us to be ourselves out here. But, he wants us to be our best versions of ourselves. I think the same could be said of any member of the church. Heavenly Father still wants us to make choices and be ourselves. But, He wants us to be the best version of ourselves. I invite you to reflect. How are you doing at being the best version of you? Make some goals. Make some adjustments. Heavenly Father wants us to be different. We are "a peculiar people."

Some ways I've found to be the best version of myself or who Heavenly Father knows I can become, is by doing the small and simple things daily. Here's a few things that you can do:

1) Pray daily as an individual and with your family.
2) Read the scriptures daily and with your family. Especially the Book of Mormon!
3) Study the Come, Follow Me
4) Serve others
5) Look for opportunities to share the gospel, and do it!
6) Go to church and be ALL IN!
7)Attend the temple regularly

There's no particular order. But, I've seen that as I do these small things, I have been and continue to change. I've been able to become who Heavenly Father wants me to become. I'm still me. But, I'm the best version of me.

I guess to sum it up. These things are all parts of living the gospel. When we do this, we are able to help others become who Heavenly Father wants them to become. I see it everyday. Here's a short example.

We are teaching a woman who doesn't have much of a religious background. We invited her to start praying and reading her scriptures. It's amazing! Her attitude and desires have started to change. She is still herself. But ,she's becoming her best self. The gospel is here to help us become our best selves. It has helped me out here on my mission. The more I live the gospel, the more I change. Now, change isn't easy. It never is. But, it is joyous. I know that this gospel is true. This is God's work! But, He needs us! Each of us! So, let's go! Let's see what we can become! He will help us as we turn to Him and ask what we can do to change. He will help you as you become better! He has helped me! He loves us! I know this to be true!

Love,
