Twisters and Testimonies
Hello!!!!
This week was really good! We had exchanges and so I got to be with Sister Lamb for a day to learn and grow from her. It was so great! Well, many good things happened this week. Here's a few.
1. Imminent Tornado Warning
To make a long story short. We had an imminent tornado warning and the Raphaels told us to join them in the laundry room(safest room). So, I grabbed my scriptures and a water bottle and we went in. I wasn't too worried because I've been in a few warnings. However, we were in the laundry room together and about 10 mins in we hear things rustling outside. Loud rustling. Then, the power went out. (So...at this point, we're all a little on edge but trusting Heavenly Father. ) We stayed in the laundry room unitil the warning time ran out and then we all looked outside. The sky was a tan color and kind of eery. Brother and Sister Raphael went outside to assess the damage. We followed and found that half of the front big tree had fallen, two back trees had damage, the back fence had a panel that broke and a post that broke, and the heavy canoe had moved a hundred feet from it's original position, and their tramp was a little banged up, but not bad. It was absolutely crazy. It was like the whole neighborhood came alive with flashlights and making sure everyone was okay. Our whole neighborhood lost trees, flag poles and fences pieces. Everyone was texting us to make sure we were okay. It was really cool.
2. Sickness and Blessings
I was feeling super sick Monday morning and was supposed to give a training at our district council. Thankfully, I was able to get a priesthood blessing. And, I felt 100 percent better and was able to give my training.
3. Church
We had a person we're hopefully going to start teaching come to church again this week! That was super great!!!
My challenge for y'all is to share your testimony with someone this week! I know that as you do this, you will strengthen yours and others testimonies around you.
I know that Heavenly Father loves us. His love is evident through His plan for us. I know God does have a plan for us. Jesus is the Christ. He suffered, died and lived so I can be strong through my suffering, rise after death and live with Him again. Heavenly Father loves us enough to give us a prophet to lead and guide us. I know that President Nelson is called of God as His prophet. As we abide his teachings we will be where God wants us to be. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet. By the power of God he translated the Book of Mormon for us. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It is powerful. God answers prayers. He loves us. This is His church. I say this, in the sacred name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
