Bike Blows and Air Fives

Hello my lovely family and friends!!

Wow! This week has just flown by! Here's a few highlights:

1. General Conference
General Conference was so good! It was really an amazing experience for me. I wrote down questions throughout the week for conference and all of them were answered through scripture study and through conference. It was really cool! I had some pretty specific questions and I received some pretty specific answers. I know that Heavenly Father knows me and what I'm going through. I know that the Prophet and Apostles are led by God and follow the Spirit.

2. Lovely Bike Adventure...
We decided to bike to an appointment a little over 2 miles away. We made it safe, had a good lesson and started back. Well, after we rounded the first corner I heard a loud air sound. I immediately recognized it as my bike tire exploding air at a rapid pace. I stopped and tried to stop the airflow. To no avail my tire became limp. Haha. To make things better, it happened right in front of a family that was outside on their porch. So, taking this blow out as a sign, we went and talked to the family. We asked if they had a tire pump. (That way we could see if there was any hope at fixing it.) They did not, but we ended up talking with the dad and gave him a pamphlet. About a mile later (walking our bikes) we saw a bunch of kids riding their bikes in a driveway. We were sure this family would have one. So, we did the natural thing and rang the doorbell. A nice lady answered. She helped us by using an air compressor. And... the tire was still limp. However, we were able to talk to her a little as well and leave her with a pamphlet. Now, the third guy we met was doing some lawn care. He stopped as he saw us not riding our bikes but walking them. We talked a little and I explained how my tire was flat. That's when he said, "God puts trials in our path. You got this girls. Air five!" (He proceeded to "air five" me.) It was so awesome! I love that guy! We met a few other people on our hour and ten minute walk back. It was really cool.

We did end up finding out what exactly was wrong with my bike. It had a big hole on the tube, however, it was on the upper inside of the tube. The member that fixed it said he had no idea how I had pinched the top inside of my tube. I proceeded to tell him that it was God's plan or way. I still don't know how it happened either. I didn't run anything over, I just was riding and poof, there went all the air. Haha. So, I know God has a plan. Even if that plan is for Sister Beltran and I to walk our bikes a few miles in 80+ degrees outside. (Don't worry mom, I brought sunscreen and water. In fact, I actually used them :) )

Moral of the story is that just like the lawn guy told me, God does put trials in our path. I know that. But, he always helps us through them. He is all knowing. I don't think we would've met those people if it weren't for my tire blowing. Heavenly Father knew that. It wasn't as fun walking and sweating the way home, but like the lawn care guy said, "We got this!" I know that's true! We got this!

My challenge for y'all is to pray for opportunities to share the gospel. Be specific in your prayers. And, have real intent. I know that as you do this, you will have many opportunities to share the gospel and will have more joy as you do this. I know that God live. I know that Jesus is our Savior. I love y'all!

Love,
Sister Stone
