The Book of Mormon

Hi Family and Friends!!!

This week has been another great week here in Tennessee! I found out yesterday that I will be staying in Fayetteville another transfer with Sister Fox. However, I have been asked to serve as a sister training leader this transfer. So, I have a few more meetings to attend. I am excited for the opportunity to get to know the sisters in my zone better and to help them.

As for my wonderful area, we are continually finding. However, more people are coming out of the works for us to teach. I am amazed at how they seem to find us or how we are led to them. I know when we faithfully find, the Lord puts the people in our path that he has prepared. We simply have to go forth.

I made a goal to talk to EVERYONE about the gospel, and look for opportunities on the way to/from appointments to serve and talk to people. I prayed for the opportunity to talk to everyone in any situation and it was given to me. We were able to talk to a 20 year old women a little about the gospel as we filled up our car tires with more air. A cashier at Walmart  started talking to us, she had met Elders a while back. We talked to a shoes sales associate and so many others. President Stone told us the more people you talk to, the more people you find. And he was so right. I'm going to continue to talk to everyone.

A short story.
A member referred his grandmother to us a few weeks ago. We had met with her and introduced her to the Book of Mormon. She said she didn't know her schedule and would call us back. Well, a week went by and we hadn't heard back from her, until yesterday. She called us and asked for us to come over that day. We went over and she was ready with her Bible. Sister Fox and I looked at each other fearing we were about to be bashed. We were both praying for each other. This women had us read Bible verses and discuss them with her. A lot on not adding or taking away from the word of God. However, miraculously and by the Spirit we were able to on the spot discuss and explain Old Testament and New Testament verses she went to. As well as show Book of Mormon verses that added to the specific Bible verses. At the end of it all, she was at peace and said she truly was seeking to learn and understand. She was afraid of "false prophets" but said she found that she believes in the same things we were teaching her. Did I mention she is a 7th day Adventist? :) She said she is excited to meet with us again and discuss the Plan of Salvation next week.

Now for an insiders view. I know that the Spirit led Sister Fox and I. The scriptures I had studied that morning were the exact ones that correlated with the Book of Mormon and the Bible and how they support one another. The Spirit gave us the confidence, courage and strength to answer ALL her specific Bible questions. He truly is the one to testify of truth. We must simply speak it and be not afraid to do so. We are promised as we speak the truth, the Spirit will always testify of it. I know this.

A challenge for y'all: I challenge you to daily study the scriptures. Both individually and as a family.  Pray with a question in mind before you begin. I promise you will receive the answers of the questions as you seek them out diligently in the scriptures.

(Also, I wanted to say to the youth of my home ward that I received a wonderful box of Book of Mormons with your testimonies in them. I am excited to share those testimonies with those I meet along with the testimonies of all the prophets in the Book of Mormon. Keep up the great work!)

I know that the Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ. If you want to learn more and come closer to God, read it. Pray to know if it is true. I know you will receive your answer. As the Book of Mormon testifies of truth, the Spirit will make that truth apparent to you. I know this as I have done so. I love the Book of Mormon. I love this gospel. I love y'all!

Love,
Sister Stone
