Scriptures and the Spirit

Hi Family and Friends!

This week was truly wonderful. I had exchanges with some other sisters in the mission. I love exchanges as it allows me to learn from other sisters.  I was with Sister Sanders from my favorite state of UT! She taught me a lot! After the exchange I was able to come back with my wonderful companion Sister Fox! She's also truly amazing!

As for the work, we've been doing a lot of finding. It's always a test of patience and diligence. However, I love it! We've found a few people to start teaching and I'm excited! I have one experience I wanted to share.

I have been praying to be able to find someone to truly teach who wants to learn more about the gospel. Well, yesterday morning I said a very specific prayer asking to find the "one". Later yesterday we were at a members house and he told us that we should stop by his moms house down the street. So we said we would love to go by. He called his mom real quick to make sure she was home. We headed over not really knowing what to expect. We walked in and were met by this really wonderful lady, who was the members mother. She invited us in to sit. She then pulled out this very worn/loved bible. I was a little nervous that she was going to ask some specific questions using her bible that I wouldn't know the answers to. So, I said a silent prayer. Then I put my trust in Heavenly Father. For the next 45 minutes Sister Fox and I were able to share the Book of Mormon with her and answer her questions using the scriptures and personal revelation. I have no idea what/how we answered her. All, I know is that the Spirit was the one teaching her and leading us. During our visit with her I was able to recall some doctrinal mastery or scripture mastery's. There were scriptures I wasn't even sure I remembered. However, it was a true testimony to me that the Spirit truly bring things to our remembrance. It reminded me of the scripture in D&C 75: 10-11 which says, "Calling on the name of the Lord for the Comforter, which shall teach them all things that are expedient for them—Praying always that they faint not; and inasmuch as they do this, I will be with them even unto the end."
I know this to be true.

This experience and many others have helped me to truly trust Heavenly Father. It also made me really want to study the doctrine even more so. The more I know the doctrine, the better the Holy Ghost can work through me as a disciple of Jesus Christ.  So, my challenge for y'all is to study the doctrine. Read the scriptures daily. Listen to the spirit and Trust Him!!! I know as you do this, your relationship will be strengthened and you will receive more personal revelation more often.

I sure love it here! I love the gospel! It truly is the reason I have eternal joy!
Have a wonderful week!

Love,
Sister Stone
