Tornado Alley!

Hey everyone!

So funny thing happened this week. We had a bunch of rain and flooding everywhere, but not by our apartment. Also, we had a tornado touch down about 400 yards from our apartment.... we are fine!! We were on our way to an appointment when we heard the tornado sirens go off. So, we speedily went back to our apartment and waited in the bathroom. The lights flickered but we didn't lose power. Later that day, we heard immense "thunder" aka tornado. We had our fans going in our apartment so we didn't realize that it was a tornado. We found out at church the next day that it was in fact a tornado and that it hit the apartments about a half mile away from us. 2 apartment complexes in town lost their roofs. However, we were blessed because the tornado went the opposite direction of us after it touched down. All in all, we have a severe weather warning for this Saturday so that will be fun:) We are really watched over as missionaries. The appointment that we were on our way to before the sirens went off was at the complex that lost their roof and one person passed away. If we would've went to that appointment, we would've been in the middle of the tornado. The Lord watches over his missionaries! I know that! So mom, don't worry, Heavenly Father has my back!!

Also, I had the opportunity to speak in the Hopkinsville Ward this past Sunday. I spoke on Trusting in the Lord with Faith, and Enduring to the End! I encourage ya'll to read the talk called, "Do We Trust Him? Hard is Good"! It's a great talk! I've really been reflecting on trusting in the Lord. He really does know each of us and what we're going through. He's trusted in us (missionaries) to spread his work. We need to trust that he will guide us and use us. We are the pencil, Heavenly Father is the writer. Trust in the Lord. He will never lead us astray. He has a plan for each and every one of us. He doesn't say it's going to be easy, but nothing of great worth is easy!

My challenge for ya'll is to keep the Sabbath day holy. By that I mean, treat your Sunday as if the Lord was with you. It is the day of rest, but not the day of naps. Rest from your labors, but come closer to Jesus Christ and your family. Anyway, I love ya'll and hope ya'll are having a fabulous week! I'm doing great here in Kentucky!
