Kentucky!

Hey Friends and Family,

This week has been crazy busy, but full of so much joy! I arrived in Tennessee last Wednesday and was welcomed by President Stone and his wife. I had some training and sleep and was sent off to Kentucky! I am currently in Hopkinsville Kentucky! My companion is Sister Henley and she's amazing! She's from UT too!!

As for teaching this week, we went out finding all week since our area just had 3 baptisms. We found a man named James who is super ready to be taught. He's had a rough life. We found him and he doesn't have a phone. We taught him the Restoration on his porch until he had to leave.  He said he really wants us to come back next week on Thursday evening. So, I'm super excited to teach him! We asked him why he was willing to talk to us, he said, "You girls just seamed to beam with happiness, I had to find out why you were so happy?" (He has a super thick accent and at first I didn't know if he was speaking English.)

We are also teaching Alexa. She's in her mid-thirties and has MS. She reads her scriptures every day and goes to church as often as she can get there. She really wants to get baptized but she isn't married to her boyfriend, who she calls husband. We taught her The Plan of Salvation and it really helped her see that our Heavenly Father loves each one of us, and how we need "opposition in all things."- 2 Nephi 2: 11. She was really struggling with knowing why bad things happen to good people. Now, she understands how joyful life is, and how our Heavenly Father loves each of us. Pray for her and James please.

Everyone in Hopkinsville are super meek people and super kind. We will talk to people and even if they are of a different faith, they listen and politely say they're not interested or they'll listen to our message. I love when they listen and are uplifted! I truly am blessed to be here and teach the people. I know that this gospel brings joy to all! I love sharing that joy and light, even if it's in a small way! My challenge for ya'll this week is to set a goal, write it down and tell someone else what your goal is. My companion and I did this, and it has helped us grow and progress. My goal this week, was to memorize and learn D&C Section 4! It's a wonderful scripture! I encourage ya'll to read it and learn it as well! Here's some pictures from the week! It is beautiful out here, and it also rains A LOT!!!

Love,

Sister Henley and I waiting to get our car fixed. ( Our Tiwi or speed checking device broke so we had the opportunity to drive an hour and a half to Franklin to get it fixed.)

 Beautiful country/landscape

There's a lot of Omish people in our area. This is off the freeway.
